A small provider with clear principles
Giegler Developing is run by Zoey Evelyn Giegler, a software developer from near Cologne. We run community software the way we'd want it run for ourselves.
Data-minimal
We only collect what running the service needs. This website has no cookies, no tracking and no embedded third-party services.
Open
We build on open-source software and host it rather than reinventing it. Bugs we find go back to the projects.
Safe for everyone
Queer communities matter to us in particular, which is why we sponsor some of them with free instances.
How we work
Every community gets its own instance with dedicated resources. It runs separately from the others on our own servers in Germany or with OVHcloud in Frankfurt. Files are stored with OVHcloud in Frankfurt, backups with OVHcloud in Strasbourg. Cloudflare protects access from the internet.
We test new versions on an instance of our own before rolling them out. Our status page shows you outages the way we see them.
“I started Giegler Developing because communities deserve a place that is truly theirs: open software, their data in Germany and someone who answers when something isn't working. Queer communities need such spaces most, which is why I sponsor some of them with free instances. And since we live off open software, part of the profit from Fluxer hosting goes back to the Fluxer project.”
